Clerical clerk and frequent Dick & Ed guest star Mr. Wilburn was recently arrested for cock fighting. Arresting officer L. B. Boyd explains, "Responding to a neighbor's complaint we arrived at Mr. Wilburn's house and found six fighting roosters in a small pen. The roosters were really going at it.!", said Boyd. "We seperated them and took Mr. Wilburn into custody." Officer Boyd continues, "I've seen some strange things in my twelve years on the force, but fighting roosters in the backyard of an affluent suburban neighborhood, well that tops it all!" The case got even stranger when Mr. Wilburn attempted to explain his actions. "I always loved the agrarian way of life. I used to drive by dairy farms just to smell the natural aromas. I knew I would probably never be able to own a big dairy farm. I mean cows take up a lot of space, don't they? I built a small pen in my backyard, and got some egg laying roosters, because they don't take up much space. The gentleman who sold me the roosters assured me that they would coexist peacefully in the same pen. I went into the house to give the roosters some privacy, then I heard the awfullest commotion. I assumed the noise was part of the egg laying process, then next thing I know, here come the police. I have since discovered that roosters don't actually lay eggs, it's something to do with biology.....I don't fully understand the process." Police were baffled by Wilburn's statement. Was he sincere or was this some sort of elaborate con job? Wilburn's long time neighbor Edwin Speedo offered this explanation, "You have to take Wilburn at his word, because trust me he is that stupid." After three days of extensive psychological evaluation Mr. Wilburn was declared incompetent and released to his own recognizance!?
